Heat Mat Bespoke

Our bespoke manufacturing service.

Heat Mat Bespoke Products

We manufacture high-quality electric underfloor heating and associated products in the UK, Denmark and Germany.
Because we are the manufacturer of our systems and construct the products we supply, we have the flexibility to make modifications or develop bespoke systems prior to, or during, production.

Our electrical products are handmade in BEAB approved factories by expert technicians, and in most circumstances, the bespoke products can still carry full BEAB approval. We produce high quality systems that meet European health and safety standards; all products are 17th Edition complaint and, where relevant, are suitable for use as part of a Part L compliant system.

Heat Mat is the brand you can trust and the professional’s choice for underfloor heating.

We are proud of our products and confident they are the very best systems we can put our name to. All our products are reliable and robust; they are supplied with either a lifetime or extended warranty, for your peace of mind.

Order volume
Minimum quantities and order value may be applicable depending on the project brief. Lead times for bespoke products are subject to specification approval and are at the discretion of Heat Mat's manufacturing team.

Heat Mat Bespoke heating mats

Create mats to meet the exact requirements of your project, making installation easier to save you time and money. Particularly relevant to projects with multiple identical units such as apartment blocks, hotels and student accommodation.

  • Extended cold tails to simplify wiring and avoid the requirement for periodic testing of an additional junction box
  • Custom outputs per m2 (from 30W/m2 to 400W/m2)
  • Custom sizes; length, width and overall m2 to meet your requirements
  • Custom shapes to enable fast installation (usual minimum order quantity for custom shapes is 50 identical units)
  • Custom mesh designs, including 400mm mesh on a 500mm wide mat (used for installation beneath a levelling compound so the mesh doesn’t float up)
  • Glued mesh for fixing as an alternative to double-sided tape
  • A wide choice of cable colour (we know it will be hidden after installation, but we do get asked!)

Heat Mat Bespoke towel warming mats

In some circumstances the use of heated towel rails is not desirable and heating the wall behind the rail is a very efficient alternative. This is an increasing application in new build hotels and apartment buildings.

  • Designed to be installed in the wall behind a towel rail to warm and dry the towels
  • Custom cold tail connection length
  • A choice of mat widths, although 500mm is the most economic option
  • Tailored lengths and overall sizes
  • Wattage outputs to match your requirements

Heat Mat Bespoke wall heating mats

The use of wall heating mats is increasing and bespoke outputs are often required. They are mainly used to keep tiled walls warm where people will be sitting against them, or to enable fast drying of walls in wet rooms and showers.

  • Extended cold tail connections to simplify wiring and avoid the requirement for periodic testing of an additional junction box
  • Custom outputs per m2
  • Custom sizes; length, width and overall m2 to meet your requirements
  • Custom shapes to enable fast installation (usual minimum order quantity for custom shapes is fifty identical units)

Heat Mat Bespoke heating cables

Have the exact cable you need for your project, speeding up the installation process and allowing you to create heating systems that are not possible with standard ranges. Particularly relevant to super-insulated properties, close to or meeting passive house standards, where very low output heating systems are required.

  • Extended cold tails to simplify wiring and avoid the requirement for periodic testing of an additional junction box
  • Custom outputs per linear meter (from 1W/m to 40W/m)
  • Custom lengths
  • Twin circuit options for in-screed heating cables; 1 cable with two switchable outputs, for instance 10W or 20W per linear meter
  • Specialist cables such as concrete curing cables and cables designed for installation beneath hot tarmac
  • A wide choice of cable colour

Heat Mat Bespoke mirror demisters

Having a mirror demister which perfectly matches your size and output requirements ensures a virtually instant effect over the entire mirror surface. Custom mirror heater pads are most often used in hotel or apartment projects. Please be aware that for very large mirrors (above 3m2) it is often preferable to heat the wall behind the mirror rather than the mirror itself.

  • Extended cold tail connections to simplify wiring and avoid the requirement for periodic testing of an additional junction box
  • A very wide range of potential sizes. If your desired size is not technically possible then a combination of custom pads can satisfy your requirements
  • Bespoke outputs per cm2
  • Choice of Voltage; 12V, 24V or 240V options

Heat Mat Bespoke thermostats

Custom design thermostat surrounds ensure the thermostats fit in with the décor of the project and match other controls. Choose from a choice of genuine metal, glass, wood and Perspex finishes.

  • A huge range of thermostat finishes, colours and choices

Heat Mat Bespoke insulation boards

Tailored insulation boards allow you to meet your exact floor height requirements with ease and the boards are also suitable to be used in walls and on ceilings. 12.5mm boards to replace plaster board are available from standard stock and 2.4m long boards are also easily supplied.

  • Custom size boards and thicknesses
