Underfloor Heating Thermostats – Floor Sensor

All underfloor heating systems have to have method of limiting the floor temperature to comply with the 17th Edition. Many underfloor heating thermostats use a small temperature sensor on the end of a wire to measure the actual floor temperature as they can be bedded in beneath the tiles. This method gives a very accurate floor temperature reading, however the floor sensor will only be able to measure the temperature in the area which it is placed.

An alternative method is to use one of Heat Mat’s infra-red floor temperature sensors. These thermostats use passive infra-red to measure the floor surface temperature over a wide area beneath them and offer a far superior reading to a standard floor sensor.
